PORTLAND, OR, Jul 19, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has been awarded a $14.1 million delivery order from STARA Technologies, Inc. for its Star SAFIRE(R) III and Star SAFIRE(R) HD stabilized multi sensor systems to support the rapid fielding of the Persistent Ground Surveillance System (PGSS). The units delivered under this order will provide Force Protection capabilities to support U.S. Army activities in Afghanistan.
Work on the delivery order will begin immediately and be performed in FLIR's Wilsonville, Oregon production facility.
